August 28: Home Opener vs Huntsville
Circle August 28 on your calendar. The Cubs take on the Huntsville Hornets at Cub Stadium at 7:00 PM in the 2026 home opener. It is the first chance of the season to pack the stands, cheer on the team, and feel that Friday night electricity that makes Texas high school football legendary.
Before the regular season starts, the Cubs will also face A&M Consolidated in a scrimmage on August 20 at Cub Stadium. This is a great warmup and a chance to see the team take the field for the first time.
Key Matchups to Watch
A few games stand out on this year's schedule. Homecoming against Waco on October 23 is always a special night at Cub Stadium, with alumni and the entire community turning out.
