About City Council
The Brenham City Council is the governing body of the City of Brenham, Texas. Regular meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 200 W Vulcan Street, Brenham TX 77833.
All regular meetings are open to the public. Citizens are encouraged to attend and participate. Agendas are posted at least 72 hours before each meeting on the official City Council Agenda portal.
At its most recent regular meeting on October 1, 2026, the council appointed Megan Mainer as the city's new city manager, ending her interim tenure. Earlier this fall, the council adopted the $131.9 million operating budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27 and set the property tax rate at $0.4750 per $100 of valuation. Recent Meeting Recap
- Appointed Megan Mainer as the City of Brenham's new city manager, ending her interim tenure in the role.
- Voted unanimously on the appointment following an executive session at the October 1 regular meeting.
- Brought more than 17 years of municipal experience to the position, joining the city in May 2025 as assistant city manager.
- Served as interim city manager since April 2026, when the council began its search for a permanent leader.
