Just a short drive from Brenham, the charming historic town of Chappell Hill is gearing up for one of its most beloved annual traditions. The 5th Annual Chappell Hill Wine & Cheese Stroll returns on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and it promises to be the best one yet.

Whether you are a wine connoisseur, a cheese enthusiast, or just looking for a relaxing way to spend a Saturday, this event captures everything that makes Washington County special. Curated by De Wayne at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Hometown, here is your complete guide to this year's stroll.

What to Expect

Participants stroll through the picturesque streets of historic downtown Chappell Hill, stopping at participating shops and venues to sample carefully selected wines paired with artisan cheeses. It is a self-guided, leisurely experience that lets you explore the town's unique character while enjoying some of the finest flavors Texas has to offer.

The route weaves through charming storefronts, historic buildings, and locally owned businesses, each stop offering a new tasting experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of opportunities to chat with fellow strollers, local business owners, and the artisans behind the products.

A Day in Chappell Hill

Make a full day of it. Chappell Hill is a Washington County gem, known for its well-preserved 19th-century architecture, tree-lined streets, and warm community spirit. While you are in town for the Wine & Cheese Stroll, consider exploring:

The Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum offers a window into the town's rich history. The Chappell Hill Lavender Farm is a peaceful stop if you need a quiet moment between tastings. And the Chappell Hill Quilt Walk, happening on September 12, will transform the town into a colorful outdoor gallery of barn quilts if you want to plan a return visit.

Also Happening on August 8

August 8 is a packed day in Washington County. In addition to the Wine & Cheese Stroll, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members The Lovin' Spoonful perform at The Barnhill Center in Brenham that evening at 7:00 PM. It is the kind of summer Saturday that reminds you why small-town Texas living is so special.

If you are thinking about making Washington County your home, days like this are just a taste of what the community offers.
